Check Out Jennette's Newest Blog about Nashville, she sure loves it there!
"Hey everybody!
I’m here blogging from the hotel room I’m staying at in Nashville, Tennessee… the same hotel I’ve been at for a month now. This is the longest I’ve ever been away from home (with my mama, of course). Then again, Nashville feels so comfortable and everyone is so friendly, that I basically feel like Nashville is my second home.
I am honored to be on the Capitol Nashville label. Every member of the ‘CapNash’ team is so gifted at what they do. The coolest part of all is that their talent is matched by their kindness… I am having so much fun getting to know everyone.
Speaking of fun, I’ve been working on my album non-stop! I still can’t believe that I am walking into rooms and writing songs with songwriters that I admire and look up to so much. It’s just crazy. I’ve worked with dozens of writers and they have all been such wonderful, warm, and welcoming people. I’ve also listened to tons of ‘outside’ songs, which means they come from writers whose publishers would like to pitch the songs to me. So basically, between songs that I’ve co-written and outside songs, I’m hearing songs all day long. I’m actually having a hard time falling asleep at night because songs won’t stop running through my brain. This song, that song, that other song that played before this song, this song that came before that song… you get the picture. .
I’ve also had the honor of meeting with some legendary music producers… legendary. These guys are the real deals. I was elated to meet them all and have the opportunity to sit down and talk with them. Wow. I kept reminding myself to contain myself and not just scream “YOU’RE AWESOME! I LOVE YOUR WORK!” . I can proudly write that I did not scream…. I nearly did, but I was able to hold it in. Just barely.
Each day I’ve been here, my mom will drive me back and forth to four or five different places for meetings, sessions, demos, etc. You’re here supporting me and encouraging me during the whole process. You give me energy, hope, excitement, and drive. I’m so grateful for that!
Can’t wait to give you more details about everything – and by everything, I mean EVERYTHING.
